2012 College Football Season Preview

Let's face it, the 2011 college football season sucked.

Sure it had its highlights, Robert Griffin III, the hail marys in back to back games that ended Wisconsin's run at a national championship, the triple overtime upset in Aimes Iowa, but really overall it was an awful season.

2011 was a transition year, new teams in new places, legends of college football being fired and passing on, countless scandals, coaches fired, and disappointing seasons by perennial powerhouses.

And to top it all of, the national championship, perhaps the worst in the games history. One team deserved to be there, and got its butt kicked by a team it had beaten earlier in the season. How's that for logical.

But there is hope college football fans, 2012 is primed to be perhaps the greatest season in the history of the sport. Young teams growing, new coaches in new places, and surprising returners are setting the stage for something amazing. So sit back and enjoy the ride.

Over the next week I will detail the contenders and pretenders of each college football conference and rank where each team stands, all culminating in a final predictions post at the end of the week, declaring the favorites to take home the crystal football next January.
